Journeys yield imagery which, of itself, is a journey: a story through time and space - of people and places, of events, real and imaginary. What connects the seemingly unrelated painting, the writing and the photograph? Images – imprinted in the mind, transformed into ideas which give rise to other forms in an endless transformative cycle. Voyages et images is a statement, an expression of my work, of the way I work, the inspiration for my work and from my work. It is my creative life, itself a journey.
So, I present distinctive, personal views of people and places through a variety of media: oil, gouache, pastel, ink; photography and, too, by imagery evoked through the written word. I write modern and historical fiction, travel non-fiction, and poetry.
